Management Measurement System MMS
Nowadays, it is extremely important that measurement runs are carried out efficiently. In addition, measurements often need to be taken based on specific route specifications. MMS is a system that covers the preparation, planning and navigation of measurement runs.
The MMS system consists of three independent software applications. Two applications, MMSPrepare and MMSPlan, are used for preparation. The third application, MMSDrive, is used in vehicles and is primarily responsible for navigation.
MMSPrepare is used to plan large measurement campaigns, usually involving several measuring vehicles. One function of MMSPrepare, for example, is the assignment of routes to measuring vehicles.
MMSPlan makes it possible to plan one or more measurement days. A set of measurement routes defined by MMSPrepare can be used as a basis for this. Aiming to keep unproductive runs to a minimum, optimised algorithms aid users in planning the measurement days. These two applications provide a geographical user interface with integrated grid maps. The graphical user interface makes the software efficient and easy to use.
The third part of the system is the MMSDrive application, the main task of which is vehicle navigation with the aid of acoustic and visual instructions. Various windows provide drivers with all the information they require for navigation. Thanks to information from the planning function, it is possible to drive several measurement routes one after the other without stopping.
The road information is based on data from TeleAtlas, which covers the entire area of Switzerland by means of a network of local roads, roads between towns and motorways. The routes can either be provided by Enkom or created in your own company using a tool that we have developed.
